About Me

Hi, I’m Betty Scharmach 👋

I’ve been an amateur painter for over 15 years, mainly painting landscapes inspired by the natural beauty of Northern Ireland. I live on the north coast, which gives me many chances to explore the area and find new inspiration.

Living here has allowed me to discover the dramatic coastline, from rugged cliffs and quiet beaches to open fields shaped by wind and weather, often passing old Irish cottages along the way. These places and views are the main inspiration for my paintings.

I spend a lot of time travelling along the north coast, where the changing light and scenery often give me new ideas. Through my paintings, I try to capture the feeling of these places and share the beauty of the landscape.

When I’m not painting, I enjoy travelling and discovering new countries. My most recent trip was to Georgia. I also love good coffee, and you will often find me sitting in a café, thinking about new places to visit and new scenes to paint.
